Where did Your stage Name come From?
i got the name from my real name. initially it was 'mtpraise' that is, Mt from Marytonette and then Praise from my kid Brother's name. But now i think i am comfortable with 'MT'
How and when did your Passion For Music Start?
Well,like i always say, i started singing right from the day i was born into this world. i once told my mum that my first cry was a song. well, my passion and love for music started practically when i was 6rz old. My kid brother and i used to sing in the children's choir and i was the lead singer then. Yea!
So i hear you are good with the Keyboard?
oh! Yes. actually, i started with drums, 7pieces. then i was 9yrz old and i used to beat the drums like no man's business and then i picked interest in Keyboard and started getting myself acquainted with the keys.
what Kind Of music do you do?
Hip Hop, Dancehall and R&B
Lets Talk About Production. when did you start producing
ok uh! well approximately two months ago. My cousin who is a producer and a singer gave me the softwares which was all i needed and a little tutorial, so i used my knowledge of the keyboard and drums put together and it was quite easy.
So You are saying You've Produced a song?
o yes! a couple of beats for just myself. some of which i have voiced, some of which i am yet to.
What inspires you?
first of all i would say God. he is the reason i sing. he is my inspiration. and then life generally. well anything can inspire me, a movie, video games, a song, a soundtrack, anything at all.
Who is Your Role Model?
Well ofcourse umm westlife,those guys played a big role in my life. their songs where actually the first song i started singing,they helped me discover my talent and i still love them till tomorrow. Asides them, Styl-plus, Brandy, MI...yea!
So Lets Talk about the BLACKBERRY CAMPUS SLAM! What was it like for You?
Well, it was a wonderful experience, i got to feel the other side of me, that was the first time i actually got to feel my energy on stage. I.m glad i got to carry so many people along and all that. It was awesome in summary.
what are Your Challenges?
umm i wont say i have none. My Parents actually. I feel i would have been better off my parents gave me their full support in my pursuit. but i hope they would some day. maybe sometime soon.
Are You in a relationship?
haha! well i like to keep my private life private..haha
what are Your plans For the Future?
truth is, i know my future is bright, so i try not to worry too much about the future.
what should your Fans be expecting from you?
hehe, that word 'fans' sounds big o! well they should expect good reports, good music, like 'Music of life" would be dropping quite soon, its dancehall. i co-produced it. y'all should expect an album right after i graduate. lol!
Anything else you want to say to Ur fans?
I want to say a big thank you to God for lifting me and also for his grace. it hasn't been easy but i keep scaling through. a big shout out to my friends, my fans, my parents and to the whole world hahah. shout to everyone supporting the brand ''MT'' love you all.
